Custom Isolations
Articular Engineering can isolate specific cells from specific tissues.
You can either supply us with the tissue, or we can acquire the tissue
for you.
Large-scale cell production
Articular Engineering can provide services to isolate or expand cell
population to provide large cell numbers.
Monolayer expansion and cryopresevation
Articular Engineering can provide services to expand and/or
cryopreserve cells.
Analysis
Articular Engineering can provide testing services for the analysis of
ARC™ tissue as well as other samples. All analysis has been optimized
for ARC™ tissue and will be performed by a trained cartilage
specialist. Analysis includes:

Collagen typing

Collagen crosslink content (pyridinoline, deoxypyridinoline, hydroxyproline)

Sulfated proteoglycan (PG) content

Hyaluronan content

DNA content

Production of frozen or paraffin sections for immunohistochemical methods, Histological staining (Hematoxylin-Eosin, Toluidine Blue, and Safranin-O/Fast Green staining).
Custom culture services
Entire experiments can be contracted to Articular Engineering , or
culture protocols can be modified to your specifications. These
services would cover the inclusion of any substance during the growth
of the ARC™ tissue outside of the normal culture conditions, or changes
in culture duration to produce tissue with more or less mature
properties. ARC™ tissue can be produced from any viable cartilage
sample supplied by the customer. Samples might be from research animals
in a current study, a particular strain of animal, or a
gene-manipulated animal. There also exists the possibility to grow ARC™
tissue on top of most any type of biocompatible scaffold material to
produce an osteochondral tissue. Articular Engineering will provide
basic consultation on its products to determine if they are right for
your needs at no cost. However, designing experiments and interpreting
the data which has been obtained in a meaningful way can be a difficult
task. Articular Engineering offers consultation services from top
researchers in the field of connective tissue biochemistry with many
years of experience with ARC™ tissue and its analysis.
