The basics: Northbrook is due North of downtown Chicago.

 

The major highways are:

I-90 AKA the Dan Ryan expressway

I-94 AKA the Edens expressway.

Both these expressways are east-west running, but due to the proximity of lake Michigan, they run north south in this area.

I-294 AKA the tri-state tollway, is North-south running

 

From Downtown Chicago:

Take I-90/I-94 west from Chicago to the junction. This is where I-90 and I-94 split, take I-94 towards Milwaukee. The exit from I-90/I-94 west to I-94 west is on the right hand side of the road. Follow I-94 west to Willow Rd, approximately 10.5 miles. Exit Willow Rd west. Follow willow Rd to the first stop light, which is Central Ave. There is a Starbucks coffee on the corner before Central Ave. Turn right onto Central Ave. Follow Central Ave approximately 0.3 miles to a stop sign. Turn a slight left. This is effectively W. Frontage Rd. W. Frontage Rd. becomes Skokie Blvd. Follow W. Frontage Rd./Skokie blvd. to stop sign at Tower Rd. approximately 0.9 miles. Head straight through the stop sign and travel approximately 0.2 miles. Turn left at 1818 Skokie Blvd. This is the second entrance past the Lewis carpet one store.

 

From the western Suburbs:

Take I-294 north, exit Willow Rd. east. Follow Willow Rd approximately 5 miles to Central Ave, this is a stoplight. There is a Walgreen’s drug store before and a Starbucks coffee after Central Ave on the left side of the street. Turn Left onto central Ave, the turning lane is just past some railroad tracks. Follow Central Ave approximately 0.3 miles to a stop sign. Turn a slight left. This is effectively W. Frontage Rd. W. Frontage Rd. becomes Skokie Blvd. Follow W. Frontage Rd./Skokie blvd. to stop sign at Tower Rd. approximately 0.9 miles. Head straight through the stop sign and travel approximately 0.2 miles. Turn left at 1818 Skokie Blvd. This is the second entrance past the Lewis carpet one store.

 

From Ohare International Airport:

Exit Airport and merge onto I-190 east and drive approximately 1.5 miles. Exit I-190 onto I-294 north to Milwaukee/I-90 west to Rockford, which is exit number 1C. Drive North on I-294 for approximately 8 miles, this is a toll road and will pass through one toll for $1.50. Exit Willow Rd. east. Follow Willow Rd approximately 5 miles to Central Ave, this is a stoplight. There is a Walgreen’s drug store before and a Starbucks coffee after Central Ave on the left side of the street. Turn Left onto central Ave, the turning lane is just past some old railroad tracks. Follow Central Ave approximately 0.3 miles to a slight left turn. This is effectively W. Frontage Rd. W. Frontage Rd. soon becomes Skokie Blvd. Follow W. Frontage Rd./Skokie blvd. to stop sign at Tower Rd. approximately 0.9 miles. Head straight through the stop sign and travel approximately 0.2 miles. Turn left at 1818 Skokie Blvd. This is the second entrance past the Lewis carpet one store. The turn prior to a Mercedes dealership.

 

From the North (Wisconsin):

Take 94 south toward Chicago/Indiana. Take Exit #31 Tower road. Turn right onto tower road and proceed to the first stop sign directly after crossing over 94. Travel approximately 0.2 miles. Turn left at 1818 Skokie Blvd. This is the second entrance past the Lewis carpet one store.

1818 Skokie Blvd is a large 3-story cement building behind some smaller buildings. Several of these smaller buildings are veterinary offices. There is a sign near the road for Articular Engineering, LLC, and Northland labs. Parking is available behind the building. There is a receptionist at the front entrance. You will be required to be let in though a set of locked security doors.
